Earnly Back to Earnly

Privacy policy

Effective 17 July 2026

The short version: Earnly uses your information to run the service, sync your account, prepare your claim material, and support you. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Optional analytics stay off unless you enable them.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the Earnly website, beta application, and related support. “Earnly,” “we,” and “us” refer to the operator of the Earnly service. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to hello@jessanddave.ca.

2. Information we collect

InformationWhy we use it
Account detailsName, email address, sign-in method, account identifier, and authentication records used to create and protect your account.
Claim profileName, email, postal address, preferred currency, and other details you choose to save for filling claim documents.
Flights and claimsFlight number, date, route, disruption answers, claim status, deadlines, generated-document inputs, and policy or travel-card summaries.
Evidence lockerItem descriptions, values, serial numbers, notes, photographs, and server-recorded upload times that you choose to store.
PurchasesPlan, product, store, purchase environment, subscription status, renewal or expiry dates, and related account identifiers. Apple handles payment-card details; Earnly does not receive them.
Waitlist and communicationsEmail address, country, consent record, and messages you send to us.
Support and diagnosticsBug-report text, optional screenshots, app build, screen name, device/browser basics, and recent scrubbed errors when you deliberately send a report.
Optional analyticsCoarse product-interaction events without names, email addresses, flight numbers, routes, dates, claim amounts, or account identifiers. Analytics are off until enabled.
Service and security dataIP address and request metadata may be processed by our hosting and security provider. We retain country-level location for some waitlist and account operational records, not precise location.

3. How information is collected

We receive information when you enter it, upload a file or photo, sign in, purchase or restore a plan, search for a flight, join the waitlist, send a bug report, or enable analytics. Some technical information is generated automatically when the service handles a request.

4. How we use information

  • Provide flight lookup, eligibility guidance, document preparation, syncing, evidence storage, reminders, and subscriptions.
  • Authenticate users, prevent abuse, secure the service, and investigate failures.
  • Send beta invitations and respond to support or privacy requests.
  • Operate private owner notifications for new waitlist signups, accounts, and plan activity.
  • Improve Earnly using optional, limited analytics and user-submitted bug reports.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

5. Service providers and sharing

We share information only as needed to operate Earnly, when you direct us, or when law requires it. Current providers include:

  • Clerk for authentication and account identity.
  • Cloudflare for hosting, network security, databases, and evidence-photo storage.
  • FlightAware AeroAPI for flight lookup and status information.
  • RevenueCat and Apple for in-app purchase and subscription management.
  • Anthropic when you ask Earnly to read an uploaded policy PDF. The raw PDF is sent for that request; Earnly does not save the raw document after processing.
  • Google Analytics for limited product analytics only when you opt in.
  • GitHub when you deliberately submit an in-app bug report.
  • Discord for a private operator notification containing waitlist email/country and, for account or plan activity, limited identity and plan details.

These providers may process information in countries other than yours under their own terms and safeguards. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, or allow third-party advertising in Earnly.

6. Legal grounds

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to provide the service you request, with your consent (for example optional analytics and the waitlist), for legitimate interests such as security and service improvement, and to meet legal obligations. You can withdraw consent for analytics in Settings at any time.

7. Storage and retention

  • On-device data remains until you remove it, clear the app, or delete your account.
  • Synced account data and evidence remain while your account exists, unless removed sooner.
  • Waitlist records remain while invitations are being managed or until you ask us to remove them.
  • Raw policy PDFs and generated claim documents are processed for the requested operation and are not stored by Earnly; confirmed summaries and regeneration inputs may be stored with your account.
  • Purchase, consent, security, and operational records may be retained as reasonably needed for fraud prevention, accounting, dispute handling, and legal compliance.
  • Provider logs and backups expire according to provider retention cycles.

8. Your controls and rights

You can export synced account data or start permanent account deletion from Settings → Account. Deletion removes synced flights, claims, profile data, evidence photos, plan records, and the Earnly sign-in identity. Apple subscriptions must still be cancelled in your Apple ID settings because deleting Earnly cannot stop Apple billing.

You can disable optional analytics in Settings. You may also ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information, or object to certain uses, by emailing us. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

9. Security

Earnly uses encrypted transport, authenticated account access, owner-scoped storage, rate limits, restricted service credentials, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; please use a unique password and keep your devices protected.

10. Children

Earnly is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can remove it.

11. Changes

We may update this policy as the beta changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when a material change requires it.

12. Contact

Email privacy or data requests to hello@jessanddave.ca. Include “Earnly privacy request” in the subject line.
